What to do on service outages: Publishing, Studio or Sample search not working

TL;DR

  1. Read if there are current reports under this topic
  2. Add your experience as comment if you feel that it adds value.
  3. Refrain from using strong language and repeated status requests - it won't make anyone more motivated to fix the problem!

General

Audiotool requires a complex infrastructure in order to provide you the full experience of music production, communication and listening. While, in theory, it's possible to setup and maintain an almost infallible infrastructure, in practice this is always a trade-off. As a small team we are also facing the challenge to discuss and implement new features, analysing and fixing ordinary bugs, keeping track of the external changes (browsers, technologies, trends, ...) and staying in touch with the community.

Even though we cannot offer a 24/7 S.W.A.T. team just in case something might break, fixing global problems always has highest priority for us! For that to work, we need all information at a single place. Scattering reports across several boards or chat systems makes it hard for us to determine the exact time when a problem arose. Resurrecting old reports is pretty confusing when reconstructing the history and makes others believe the issue existed for several weeks while it had been fixed in the meantime.

Please add all information about global outages to this topic. We will close all reports on other locations as duplicates and refer to this one - please spare us the overhead.

What should be posted here?

Let us know if

  • publishing isn't working for you and how it looks like (error message, stuck status, etc.)
  • starting the app fails and you think it's a global problem (error message, stuck status, OS/browser version, etc.)
  • the search isn't working (samples, tracks, users, auto-completion).
  • there's any other problem which you believe affects everyone.
  • you're unsure, if you've found a global problem.
  • you want to inform us that a reported problem has changed or disappeared or (after a sensible interval!) still exists.

The more info we have, the faster we can fix it.

What should not be posted here?

  • Ordinary bugs require their own topic as usual.
  • Unnecessary status requests will only dilute the valuable information.
  • Strong language; you can be pretty sure that we are most likely at least as annoyed as you when things break.

    31 March, 22:00 ~ 22:15 CET, Guru Meditation error: "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot create WebGL context" and the whole Studio desktop looks green. Forced to reload.

      yes today a lot (quite happen every 20/30mn) of these errors occuring : "Server connection lost, reconnecting" or "server stalled" and then it stop the studio. Even reloading is blocked

      Thanks, can see some oddities between 1:14-1:30. We'll have a look.

      The automatic reload should be able to handle ordinary connectivity problems. If there's a longer outage it fails. This behavior is kind of expected IMO, but the outage itself is not :/

      About the WebGL-Context - no idea. Will ask.

      1 April 1:16 CET, Server connection lost. No guru meditation, but the project closes and shows the dialogue "Server connection lost, reconnecting" and forces me to reload the app. Unfortunately the "Loading project" dialogue is stuck (no progress bar). I have to reload the tab.

      Yes, after this guru meditation it's working fine for now. But apart from this, I've been getting random pop-up dialogues with the message "Page refresh required" on the website when trying to write on the boards. It has been happening during the evening and night.

    Not happening for me, but several people are getting errors trying to log into or just access the site right now. My source is the audiotool discord server. I did get a "500 error" once but only once.

    The entire site is barely loading for me. I can't listen to tracks and can't load the app at all.

    I couldn't even connect for 2 days.

    Is something wrong with the site? Because I know for a fact it's not my internet, since literally every other website I go to is perfectly fine, even on other devices and browsers.

    Since two or three days I'm getting the "Fail: sorrysorrysorry our Audiottol servers can't take the heat" error page. The error goes away on the next refresh. So it's not a big deal, but anyway strange. Anyone else?

    Getting "Server connection Stalled" dialogue in Studio right now. During this time, the whole server was unreachable once. Browser error was "ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE".

    i can load 2-3 presets into a heisenberg but after that the preset just doesn't load in. Then the entire tab is blank because it cant load any presets. I have to reload the tab if i want to load in a good preset to a device.

    Just like clockwork, "Server Connection Stalled" dialogue appears again at midnight (CET), same as every night for the last few weeks. It seems AT has a recurring server/network problem.
