Helmholtz

André Michelle

The Helmholtz is a device that resonates on five adjustable frequencies. The industry term is 'comb filter'. It is accomplished by five short tuneable delay-lines. The easiest way to understand the Helmholtz is to input short noise-impulses (for instance from the Pulverisateur) and fiddle with the parameters. It magically transforms the input into a harmonic signal.

Just had a quick fiddle with this new device and it produces some really cool experimantal sounds.

However, I think it'd be a bit of a pain to automate/variate this effect on a timeline automation channel basis.

It'd be even cooler if it was possible to have envelopes and LFOs that could be triggered by the audio source (or even an other input signal)

That would make it less static and more fun to experiment with.
