So I have come up with a basic setup that I feel is more effective than Audiotool's default, and more conducive to workflow. I encourage you to alter this setup to match your own preferences, however I will recommend that the core aspects remain intact, i.e. the Centroid and Aux setups.

This setup includes a sidechain, which can be modified or removed at will.

I have 4 Centroid mixing boards set up:

1: Sidechained sounds only

2: non-sidechained synths only

3: A-tracks, Drums

4: a Master Centroid which will route all sounds thru your master effect chains, final compressors, and EQs (all included, thanks to some recommendations from fellow Audiotoolers)

There is a bypassed Quantum that acts as a Visualizer, and a Tonematrix that is not connected to anything. The purpose of this tonematrix is to label parts of your track for better organization during later mixing stages. It also serves as a sort of notepad, allowing you to leave short notes like "practice area" or "Outro ideas 1-3", etc.

The setup also features two heisenberg synth presets, one Audiotrack, and two drum machines with some basic samples included.

The aux effect chains are running through a splitter/merger combo which allows a user to apply one chain to multiple boards with multiple sounds, saving space and keeping the project running more smoothly with less load. These effects are mostly for overall effect, such as reverb, delay, stereo enhancement, and distortion/exciter.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1). Open for remix

2). save as draft

3). Upon starting new draft, open this in your library.

Then, using the grouping tool, select the entire workspace. Then use your machines copy/paste hotkey commands (ctrl C/P for windows users and command C/P for Mac), copy and paste the workspace from the draft into new draft you want to begin working on.

If you have any questions about this setup, please feel free to leave them in the comments. Stay classy! <3

  • FURTHER NOTES:

You will notice that the Centroid for Sidechained sounds is not being routed thru the auxiliary effects chains I have included. This is because, for some reason, when using Aux effects on a sidechained sound, there is a bleeding effect that all but renders the sidechain null.

I haven't figured out why this is, perhaps it's just a bug with the DAW rn, but if anyone has any insight or info on this, please feel free to comment with any info you think might be helpful.
