    in Ableton sometimes I have to record the random automations to make sure I don't get 'worse' result on subsequent playbacks/renders

    Results: Every render is the same

    Also results: For the "download mixdown" option, the render will only be the same as the published version if you do "download mixdown" before playing the track. Subsequent renders will be different.

      i.e. I believe that for "download mixdown", the render starts at the last random state.
