Due to revival and some updates to how this might end up working, this will be the new /at_tapes/ discussion thread!

Important info, read this:

-/at_tapes/ vol 1 is a project to create a big hip hop beat tape/playlist, with songs produced by various members of the AT community. The project is completely open, I encourage anyone and everyone to contribute and participate! To submit a song, just post it below.

We're going for an old-school/lofi bump theme, however trap influence is welcome on some tracks as long as it still falls within that theme. Additionally, some weirder hybrid stuff is very welcome. Hip hop has become an extremely versatile genre, and I encourage users of all musical backgrounds and styles to try their hand and join in!

Whether or not a song gets into the tape is decided by vote (subject to change). Voting will be focused more on whether the song is well-made and up to par with the rest, not so much on a personal “I like/dislike this song”. This is to ensure variety and fair inclusion in the project.

Old tracks are welcome to be submitted, however we definitely want to get a lot of new tracks in!

Additionally, I’ve created a shared google drive folder here:

Submitted songs, including those posted in the old thread, are organized here; voting will be done here; and whatever other files people deem necessary to create will be located here.

Here are some discussion guidelines:

- Talk and discuss with other people in this thread. As long as it somewhat relates to the project, go ham! We should encourage as much activity as possible.

- Post the beats that you make for the project here, of course. If they aren't posted here, we likely won't see them. I’ll skim through and add beats to our drive as they’re submitted.

- Listen to the tracks that are posted here and on the drive! Give criticism, advice, even offer to collab and work together on a track if you want to. This is one of the most important parts of making this project work. Listen and respond to submitted tracks.

- Have fun!

I think that covers just about everything I wanted to say. I'll be linking this to people who’ve shown interest in the project, or seem like they would. Let's get working, guys!
