I was just playing around with BandLab (www.bandlab.com), a cloud based online DAW that offers user collaboration to create tracks. It sounds in concept very similar to Audiotool, has a very clean, simple interface, although it is heavily preset based, quite limited and has nothing on Audiotool in terms of sonic creativity. Have any of you used it? The thing that surprised me is that they do a lot of advertising for their product (participation in NAMM show, articles and reviews in specialized media, etc) and have a very polished, accessible promotion. The media calls it the "Cloud-Based DAW That Could Change Everything". I think that if Audiotool were more known (if you did more promotion), you would be all over the place with your advanced DAW.
I didn't have any idea about BandLab, but I get where you're coming from in terms of comparability to audiotool (though audiotool is obviously better in terms of devices). I'd love to see this community become more active and engaged with each other>
Here's an article about the story of this DAW: (link is only visible to registered users) Apparently, there is seriously big money behind this project. It's still not entirely clear how they plan to remain profitable, but they are aiming squarely at the community of independent music creators. In many ways, their mission statement is practically the same as AT.
