It would be cool if after you closed a project that you saved in the app, you could go to it's draft and hear a preview of what it would sound like so you wouldn't have to publish, listen to, and then republish it several times. You could have it so that when you leave the app, it would create a preview mixdown of what was currently saved in the app, and while it's doing that, you could go do something else while the mixdown is being saved to the site in the background, but I don't really know how all of that stuff works so i don't know if it'll be implemented

I produce laggy stuff, I'm on board!
That would be great, a preview on the draft page. You could even have a preference setting for activating that function or not.
In order to be able to preview the track outside of the application, a new mixdown would have to be generated every time you saved. I do think it would be more practical to have an option to export the project as an mp3 or ogg file without publishing. I made a cover of Cheesecake by Dexter Gordon on audiotool and I would like to send it to my friends, but I can't because I'd have to publish it first, which is copyright infringement.
