I'm not sure if this is currently possible in anyway (I don't think so, though...)
But a nice idea to go along with templates in general could be to save a template as the default per user so when you start a new draft, it's automatically configured to your workflow. This would be helpful for artists who might want to frequently work on new ideas and tracks but don't want to navigate through their (many many drafts).
Otherwise, perhaps an implementation can include a separate template tab in the Next app dashboard, (this can be similar to the "getting started" landing page in the flash app with the default Audiotool templates).
