When dragging a cable or device around in the desktop, the automatic desktop view panning to reach different places of it is way too fast. I need several tries back and forth until I hit the spot I want. This is especially annoying with cables, because connectors are small. I would slow down the pan or better yet, make its speed adaptive: slower when the pointer is near the centre of the view, faster when it is near the edges, just like in the time-line.
