As a trap producer I like my thumpy 808s. But whenever you boost em, they clip ( unless you have limiter on, then it compresses everything, listen to some of my olldd songs for proof).
A soft clipper would be nice so that I (and others, shoutout to @wutho and Prxd. Elite) could boost them spinz a little harder.

You can use the waveshaper or a compressor as a limiter, both of these are not digitally clipping your audio.
Personally, I prefer using the gravity comp in this manner.
Slam the ratio to 50:1 (anything above 20:1 is considered limiting), fast attack, threshold set where you want to limit the audio, play with the release and knee to adjust the saturation levels to taste.
Yeah I thought about the gravity comp, I'm not great at using it yet.
