Tape recorder (record any signal to an audio region)

I would love a tape recorder device.
You could split any signal line you choose and plug it into the recorder.
Hit record and it will create an audio region where it records the signal live to the place where the playback cursor is.
Would be great for bouncing and for live jamming with effects and devices (especially the pulsaar delay)
Take dub music the next level on AT ;)

Would also be cool to use as a tape delay

You can already bounce any segment of the timeline.

Oh, ok. Missed that. Would still be great for recording feedback loops and delays though

How can you bounce the timeline? Can't find the option.

Go to project > sample upload > bounce timeline

Yes, something like a looper pedal-like device could be interesting, although this kind of device makes more sense in a live situation, not in a sequencer/timeline environment. You can achieve the same thing by just looping audio regions, or parts of regions.

I was feeding some sounds into a feedback loop with the pulsaar and messing around with the lfo and the millis knob. You can achieve some quite cool dub delays like that. Would be cool if you could record such "live" tweaking. I guess that would also be possible to achieve with automations but I think it would be more fun if you could record stuff like that on the go.

@kurpingspace2 Ah thanks! Good to know :)

You can always press the record button in the transport and your tweaks will be automatically recorded into automation regions. You can then bounce the audio result into a sample that you can import into your arrangement.
