I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW TO USE THE GATE EFFECT FOR THE PAST HOUR AND GOT ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE, HOW THE HELL DO I USE THIS DAMN THING???????

Gate: when the threshold is reached by the trigger signal (the side chain, unless it is disconnected) the gate will "open" and allow sound to pass through. The attack, hold, and release times work to control the envelope of how this gate opens and closes.
A sidechain input works as a trigger signal for whichever plugin you are using.
