How can I best run Audiotool on Android?

First of all, thanks for making such a nice DAW. This seems like exactly what I need to doodle out some of my 303 patterns on the go.

I'm trying to run it on my Pixel 3a running Android 12.

I've tried it on Chrome (v111.0.5563.58.0) - There the app opened, but it was pretty unusable: I couldn't do stuff like dragging and dropping.

On Firefox Mobile (v110.1.0) I couldn't even get Audiotool to run, it was telling me that a database was corrupted.

I tried to find whether there was a native Android app, and it seems there was: - But sadly the Android Play Store link no longer works. I downloaded the .apk file linked in the comments, and it installed and ran, but I couldn't zoom in and out, and the buttons are tiny on my display.

So yeah, how would I best run Audiotool on my Android phone?

Thanks in advance.

  • I am able to use it on my phone, but the app does not work with touch input. If you connect a USB mouse, or use a Samsung Phone with an integrated stylus - it works mostly without issue. It only works with Chrome, and I think the Pixel 3a might be a bit too slow to make it work without noticeable glitching under playback.

You can try connecting a USB mouse via an OTG cable, or use Bluetooth mouse - this will allow you use the UI, but it's not designed for a mobile screen (nor mobile hardware) and you won't exactly have a good experience.

  • sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if im not wrong, audiotool isnt supported for mobile anymore

    • Yes, but we don't focus on get the studio working on mobile devices yet. You might find a way like @naut did. But if not we unfortunately can't help you.

But don't all smartphones have web browsers?
