How do I sample a beat

I want to sample a beat from a song, do I need to convert it to a audio file? if I do how do I do that because I already have some on my flash drive but it's saying they need to be converted into an audio file. Please help!!!!!!

    whenever i press 'upload sample' it asks me to activate my account yet that is already been done

    Please don't do that. It's a breach of copyright (therefore illegal) and we will have to take down the sample and block your account from uploading further samples for at least 30days.
