How did you start getting your music noticed?

So, how exactly did you start getting popular on audiotool? I'd love to hear your stories and learn from them! Also, how did you start getting your tracks to sound professional? For those of you that produce as a career, what is the first step to getting there?

I went to my keyboard and slapped my hands on it and Bonked my mouse until people said it sounded good

You shouldn't be making music just for popularity. Create music because you LOVE too and not because you want to become popular. As for tracks sounding professional, that's called mixing and sound design. It's a learning process overall and you'll find your sound the more you produce. Be open for feedback and learn and improve with each track you make and you'll grow exponentially :)

Rome wasn't built in a day. Same saying goes with music production. You don't become super good and immediately famous in one day.

Same as in real life. Any publicity is good publicity whether positive or negative. So spam the sh* out of AT and get famous.
Or the hard way: Listen music -> comment, interact, make friends and make good (unique, well mixed, interesting) / popular (stuff on the charts) music.
But yeah, why care about popularity. Way too hard work. Just compose what you feel like and have fun.
If you want a career study business ;)
