i usually just listen to music when playing games, like factorio for example. eventually i find something i like with the autoplay feature on youtube and i get inspired by alot of songs
Well, I don’t rely on motivation, because motivation is really just a feeling which comes and goes. Usually I’d just force myself to make something and if I like it I keep working on it. I find that once I make something I like then the motivation to keep working on it comes easily.
And then immediately dies the second I mess it up, and that’s usually when I stop working on it
Which is probably why I haven’t published anything in weeks
Get a glass of water, and before drinking it, tell yourself, "I will do ___ after finishing this." Chug the glass and once it's done, you gotta start. Also, you have to be detailed with how your going to manage your productivity. You can't just be like, "I will do all of this work by this certain time," what you really should be doing is figuring out what work should be done first, what should be done last, etc. Taking baby steps is important to get your work done properly, cause otherwise you'll be overwhelmed , and the quality of your work could suffer. So after drinking the water, don't prepare yourself to do the entirety of the day's work, prepare yourself to work on what you have set up first, and only focus on that

In terms of music, you do the same thing. It's harder to start a draft than work on an already existing one, so I'd say start whenever you feel inspired to, and then organize your work from there. Example: today you get the inspiration to work on a song, so you make whatever you can make while your inspiration lasts. Then, after a little break, observe and write down all the things that need to be done to the project to get it to completion in a list, and set a realistic end deadline, and then smaller deadlines for parts of your list. For instance:
-add chorus --> Sept 15
-tweak drums in 2nd verse --> Sept 16
-record bass for track --> Sept 17
-record vocals --> Sept 17
-rough mix --> Sept 18
-final mix --> Sept 19
DEADLINE: Sept 20
(You can have as much space between work days as you want, this is just an example. As long as you get to the end deadline date with a complete song, you're good!)
