Where can I upload songs from

berm · started 2024-01-17 14:27 · updated 2024-02-06 19:45

Hi, I was just curious as to whether or not it follows site policies for me to create a song on another site (such as BL or FL) and then upload here, simply for more reach and publicity for the song, since they will be uploaded to music apps such as spotify. It makes a lot of sense if this is unacceptable, but I was simply unsure :) Ty

In theory, it isn't allowed, but nobody really enforces that rule, unfortunately.

As laid out in https://www.audiotool.com/terms there are no rules forbidding this usage of audiotool.
It is worth noting that the community does frown upon using AT this way, however.

Yeah the lack of rule enforcement is disappointing

It seems like the platform could actually benefit from uploads to platforms like yt and spotify if it was credited properly. Most people here appear to be creators, but you could reach the people who just want to listen on other platforms. I didn't know audiotool or its community existed until I started seriously looking for a DAW platform.

I strongly suggest learning how to use Audiotool, rather than uploading music created on other DAWs. There is a learning curve, but ATs DAW offers more tools and headroom than BL does (I can't speak for FL, though from experience they aren't too different). If you're here to make music, you're here to learn. Most people won't bother with the second part. Other than that though, I wish you the best on your musical journey. If you'd love to learn and see how tracks are made behind the scenes, hit me up or check out my tracks in studio by hitting remix ;)

It's not about rule enforcement. You can upload what you want however the website allows you to. Simply put, it's taboo among the community. AT users often spend years, putting in actual effort into learning the synths, and all of the other tools that are provided to you at no cost. So when someone just comes out of nowhere, and uploads a shit trap beat from BL and FL, it takes away from the people actually trying to make music ON audiotool. There's tons of good music here and it's possible to make high quality, professional sounding music. It just takes time. Don't feel attacked though, I'm not here to push you down. If you have a decent computer or laptop, I urge you to use AT more - if you're looking to expand your music talent and skill. You can really grow here.

I feel like the AT community is slowly shrinking, and people are losing inspiration (or for newcomers, there is no inspiration to be found.) In my mind, if I were to start uploading my songs from BL, it would kinda take away from the website as a whole. Since making this post I have changed my mind and decided that slowly helping tear down a community just for more publicity for a song is not worth it. I personally still prefer BL, but the users of AudioTool will always have my respect, as this is the site where I gained such a passionate love for music; to an extent where I would like to implement it in my profession. I am very grateful for all of the responses to this question! Thank you guys! :)
