Device grouping in the desktop

I can't find any way to group specific devices together in, say, a separate "box". If I have multiple devices making up a single instrument/track, there should be a way to simply keep them in a bounding box with a label "instrument ...". This bounding box by its bare self would be an extremely helpful tool in sorting the UI during production.

If there is a way, my deepest apologies, I was not able to find it.

Maybe I misunderstood your request. I just click the megaphone to the top right and everything gets marked as read.
AFAIK the activity stream cannot be emptied.

Yes I have wanted this feature for so long!
Here are some of the ways I think it would improve productivity

  • reduce workspace clutter and performance lag
  • improve user presets by allowing users to save groups of effects
  • encourage community building by allowing users to share builds
here is a quick mock up I made as an example of what it could look like

To reduce clutter further, might I suggest that the grouping box hides away the plugins within it? Double click the box and it opens up, and your desktop now becomes only that box (with a way back out to the overarching desktop, of course).
