How about a thing that auto-searches the whole board for the words you type in and shows suggestions to the threads that are already made?
I start typing the thread - direct messages... and a suggestion that says - you may want to check out these threads, maybe your question/idea is answered/discussed, pops up?
Because apparently for some people it is a big issue to use the search feature so they don't make the same topic a millionth time?
I generally agree. But you'd normally only search for words in the title and as long as people entitle their threads "Heres an idea", "problem", "a bug" and the like - you won't get any useful results. Using the entire message will most likely give you a lot of false positives.
If it's not that much work to implement, I'd give it a shot nonetheless - can only get better.
