Welcome to the future of PETER!
""We have a brand new PETER that just got updated 30 seconds ago!""
PETER list:
-There are black PETERS on the side of my screen where there weren't before.
-The faded picture in the background of my profile just isn't working, look-wise for me. It's all pixelated, and frankly, kinda ugly.
-The fact that my hidden tracks aren't grayed out for me (but still actually hidden) is confusing me a lot.
-The player that shows the visualizer, and what track is playing has been shifted to the right, away from the center.
-There are clear elements from the old design still lingering (the boxes for the board threads, for instance).
-Tracks that have charted no longer have any distinction from whether they are currently charting or not on the artist profile (which might confuse some new people).
-Text popups (when confirming an action, or mousing over certain clickable icons) do not appear anywhere near where the original icon is.
-Mobile use is PETER

Ik This is insane!!! I like it but I can't right on my own wall
Please note that this is in beta.
LIT
Some things will go wrong. We have a loving Dev Team to iron out these issues.
cool look :)
So please don't spam the staff of audiotool to fix the bugs because we know about these and will be fixing these.
Wow, looks fancy!
even tho I'm not a developer or staff of audiotool I am a CS developer myself so I get the standpoint.
Bug list: you can't play your own track, You cant use your wall unless you use the T.A.B system, And if a user has no tracks then it will echo
_user-name has no tracks
_user-name = your username I'm just using this as an example
amazing
great job from the team
*Also do note that if the site is getting updated expect that the main attraction of audiotool, the studio to be possibly updated.
*not confirmed
Nice! Not quite nice on mobile though. Might wanna take a look at that.
Ok then. Ill let the team refer to this post.
new bug the chart number is stuck at #99 could possibly be a PHP error or a DB error.
Very excited!!!!!!!!
here is an account to try the name bug on https://www.audiotool.com/user/aeo/
As for an actual example: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/344959314953371649/902528422490804284/IMG_1201.png
I do like the way the profiles are laid out on mobile though, with one track per row. It looks very clean.

neat
why cant i comment on people's walls
as said earlier this is a bug that the team will have to fix. as a developer I've found out why. the image is covering(clipping) the prompt just like a horribly made track.
The fact that we have to answer to people (who wrote on our wall) on their own wall reminds me of the old days ahah
clipping isn't always bad-
same
if the clipping isnt purposeful in a track, its bad mixing
I bet the only thing y'all clip is those low frequencies
If you want to call clipping good think about how you execute it in a mix
clipping low frequencies such as bass is bad when it clips the stereooutput, if its limited (via waveshaper or crusher) then its purposeful. bad purposeful clipping has excessive fuzzing (that SSHHH sound), while good clipping has little of that while distorting the higher frequencies.
the spinz 808 is overused
Also, displaying the full date the track was published is nice
if the 808 clips through the vocals (or overpowers it) then it's bad mixing
I mean vocals is just preference, but I get you at the master mix (stereo output)
I just think it's stupid clip is only discussed in regards to trap, and it's self-explanatory why
but as I said, it's all in execution and as you said, purposeful
expecting mobile hotfixes
the new look is kinda ugly imo. the old look was more classier and looked better.
this new look will make us look like soundtrap or just some fuckin random shitty daw
Ah yes, the first hater of the new look.
People said the same thing years ago when the website switched designs, I suppose it's no different now.
I honestly really like this redesign, even if the old one was really good too.
at least this site isn't some trash DAW like Soundtrap
count how many assets are paywalled there
funny to say it's owned by Spotify also
It's simply amazeballs! Looks an feels a lot more vibrant and organized.
Soundcrap
you guys dismiss criticism of the site by saying "at least it isn't soundtrap!!11" or "the site is free!!!1". that isn't a fair way of looking at things, not for me.
Potentially poor contrast between the blurred avatar background and grey text such as the user description.
Lemme break it down for you
Quack quack your opinion is wack
Maybe I've somehow got mine screwed up, but to me it just feels unfinished. I'm having all kinds of problems navigating the new layout.
-There are black bars on the side of my screen where there weren't before.
And that's just what I can immediately find. It's kinda hard to appreciate the new look when it just looks broken.
Audiotool has always been a WIP.
I dont like it i cant see my notifications i try to click on it and goes away
i have a feeling this thread is gonna become salty fast
Some really nice points in there; the new update is cool but definitely needs some tuning still.
Honestly a little disappointed in the lack of Peter button in this update.
you know what i kinda agree, especially since its unfinished, although the previous look was a bit dull and flat despite being polished
I'm also not seeing any notification numbers.
-The "Edit comment" button's placement on the pop-up is still there even when the button itself isn't.
-I have to refresh the site to play any tracks.
Also, to address a point I'm actually really liking from this:
+The post date on tracks now shows the day of the month the track was posted. Please keep that.
I think the old home feed is like easier to look at in all honesty
I prefer looking at everything chronologically from top to bottom compared to this
having the news beside the feed also feels better
feels less organized really
well even though you are a space nigga i have to agree because the old one had a soul, and this one just looks like a generic template. the overused modern 2020 look of rounded edges, transparent and minimalistic design that i just don't like. and yes i know i said the new look is cool but now after using it its a little meh
There's a glitch if there are a lot of tags on a track: https://www.audiotool.com/track/z1mx09474pgt/
I think that happened on the old layout. I remember seeing a different track with a similar bug a while ago.
Ah, ok. Never realised
thanks for agreeing with me g. whats a space n-word tho

Minor bug: when clicking on the pfp of a user, the only way to leave the zoom on the pfp is to press 'escape' (before, we could click outside the area of the picture to leave the view)
click the pfp instead of outside it
Oh yes, thanks :)
