call me a cynic or even entitled, but the thought irks me nonetheless

And I've witnessed so much happening from the beginning I started on Audiotool to now. That's been about 6 years from now. You all know that I will do what it takes to make Audiotool a safe and more accesible community. Although I do put the website's achievements to great regard because it's also helped my fanbase, and myself included. So I do appreciate everything that this website and my fans give back to me. I didn't wanna make this about me, but make it more about my opinion. Because I have struggled to say this for a very long time and all.

If the previous featured artists have anything in common, it's that they have never spoken on the subject before it was their turn. Be patient and stop finding this so obviously important and you will surely get your turn. So many talented musicians are still to come, why not you as one of them?

I am being patient, and I think everyone should get a turn. However, I just wanted to put this out there because it is something I've been struggling with. I think this survey is a good way for people to grow and understand each other. I have no issues with it.

That's all I wanted to say, I apologize if it comes off as self assertive. I did not intend it that way.

Besides the honor for the respective artist, the Featured Artist is also a tool we use to show the outside world how interesting and diverse our community is. If this means that sometimes people are featured who have already been featured or are no longer so active on Audiotool, then it serves a purpose. Nevertheless, the featured artist will always continue and everyone will have their appearance. Just look at how long some of the artists were active before the time came. Or how long Martin Scorsese had to wait for his first Oscar.

getting nominated for something was just one of those silly thoughts that ravaged my head for a long, long time, and seeing even just one person who thought of nominating me for something like this really made my day in a way like no other hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhnjtnhj

and your take is respectable non, i know it'll be nicer to see lesser known artists get recognition, but most people usually do favor for the more known users, which is understandable since there's still a lot of users that hasn't gotten a featured artist yet (case in point sky bound zoo and heissen)

so while i also advocate for lesser known users to get a feature, it's gonna be a unanimous decision that people are gonna choose the bigger and well known blokes to be nominated

you don't need to be featured when you can set your own personal growth and goals
one can grow off the feedback of others surely, but one doesn't need others to validate how good they are
it's nothing to worry about as long as you make yourself happy out of what you enjoy doing

i got by mostly self teaching, experimenting, and some occasional assistance and i think im pretty satisfied with what i can do, but i can understand your case

Yeah, I do enjoy what I am doing a lot. I just tend to look down on myself because I don't have quite a realistic approach or goal to things. Just to clarify, I'm gonna be fine. I'm happy for everyone, and want to see people grow.

On one hand I can understand wanting newer or less popular artists to shine through.
However, you can't expect people to always go out of their way to find them. No matter how hard everyone tries there's always going to be a bias, but I don't think that fact makes it any less likely for less popular people to get featured, because in the end of the day once people start nominating and ones name is on the list, everyone has decent chances. Having your name there doesn't only mean that you have a chance to get featured but a more decent chance for people to check out what you make.

I wasn't here when this was going on but I was no joke thinking about nominating you if this happened again. Looks like I missed this chance, but I will be here next time. I will make SURE your name is up there man. Me and titik we talking in discord about how you need a feature, you're just too underrated in this community

well i said this mainly not in regards to new users but the fact that we have people who were featured in the past being nominated as we speak
i'd rather see the less obvious going on
lesser known users are more or less a personal preference, but i don't want the gist of this to be just the same people already under the spotlight getting the spotlight even more
i did state in my first comment that people stick to their favorite artists and i am aware i can't control that

I do get your concern, and I also think that's a problem.

However getting rid of the ability to nominate the same people would also be quite problematic.

I should also point out the last "people's choice" vote results influenced the 303 contest results which was already questionable in itself
some may disagree but i am committing to this said

I think that might be because they were going on in the same timeframe as you said so that might have just influenced people's decisions

First of all Moderator is not a person and second it's not a problem if we only have 17 from 20 artists in the game.

but the @moderator 's are cool and al the things they do for this website they need true recognization

Have you considered whether the moderators might be users themselves, who may even have had their own feature in the past?
