We've Caught Another Impersonator

This isn't surprising, but it's serious.

He goes by the name of AAM-96. He is actively stealing tracks from all across audiotool's user base. Generally, you may think stealing tracks like this is harmless, as it's probably some kid looking for attention on the internet, though this time, it's a bit worse; He used Horus Music Limited to trademark these tracks. He used Horus Music to illegally distribute his stolen music across Youtube, Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple music, Twitter, Facebook, and basically all other platforms you could think of. See here:

Okay, What's He Stealing?

TEQTONIQ Xavi Vulkron Vizil Crxyn (Cerixyn) Sub4sax RiMi - He has taken tracks from these users in particular and trademarked them. These are only the users I immediately recognized were stolen from. He has stolen from many more users then just these. I recognize he has a particular liking to the EDM on audiotool. So, if you're an EDM producer, then you should probably review the tracks because chances are, he has stolen from you also.

What Are We Going To Do About the Illegal Trademarking?

If you've taken a look at the playlists on his topic channel, then you've seen that he has 60+ stolen audiotool tracks auto-generated onto youtube, and is collecting ad revenue off of these stolen tracks. This only counts the sum of the stolen tracks auto-generated by youtube, so it's entirely possible he's stolen and trademarked over 100+ tracks. Due to the trademark, he now owns these tracks in their entirety, though illegally. Trademarks are difficult to get rid of, though it's not impossible. Ultimately, it's Horus Music we need to complain to in order to have the illegal distribution stopped. If we have enough complaints filed over the issue, then we may actually get Horus Music to review the matter.

How can I help?

Besides filing complaints, I personally like the idea of cyber raiding his personal Youtube channel for starters. We need more people in on this in order to identify every track he has stolen, so we're able to return ownership of the tracks to the original authors. He has four videos posted so far, so identifying those shouldn't be too hard.

Again, here's the link:

Other than that, what will help more than anything is to raise awareness.

  • Yes. Up to now, I have also noticed the consequences of my actions. I want you to give me more time to settle this matter. I want not to affect Horus Music nor anyone personally. I will remove all the uploading space and copyright of the songs. Give me up to 2 weeks to process.

    • \/\/\/

    • it's a music delivery service. I am trying to erase all of this. Please give me more time

  • @AAM-96 Whether you're actually sorry or not, it doesn't fix the possession issue with all of the tracks. Yes, we will report you to Horus Music, and the goal is for you to be banned from using that particular distro altogether, and for all of the stolen tracks to be returned to the original authors. I say this in all best respects.

    • Gotcha. I guess I should get started then. lol

    • It will take some time. The last time I disputed it took several months for it to update.

    • I tried that, but I never got a response from soundcloud. I'll try a couple more times though...

  • What I don't get is since most tracks are creative commons, all someone has to really do is just credit the original author, original track, and indicate if any changes have been made. Under CC-By-SA it's perfectly within legal rights to put together an Audiotool mix or compilation ( without permission ) and monetize it. Yet these guys always just hoover up tracks off the platform, paint a bogus name over everything without any source reference, and register copyright.

    • Yes . I think that was my biggest mistake.

    • It doesn't offend or bother me. Just look up the Creative Commons license. Tracks on this site are usually released under CC-BY-SA. You are allowed to use them in almost any way you want. However when songs are inaccurately credited and released through a distro, it puts copyright claims onto artist's Youtube channels when they want to post their own music. I've personally had this happen to me multiple times.

In the future just be clear about who the artist is, and link the original track. It isn't technically required, but also asking artists if it's okay to use their music is the polite thing to do. It's the equivalent of being a photographer and taking pictures of people without asking them. You are within your right to do it, but a lot of people are going to get upset and react negatively if you don't ask.

    • I hope you can give me more time. I know it is a crime to upload these music without your consent. I am very sorry for that. Please give me time to correct this mistake.

  • I just wanted to have my own spotify channel to show off to my friends but I don't think it's that bad. I'm so sorry

    • i mean just hope that he can ig lol

I'm just trying not to make enemies, idgaf about making friends but i'd rather not have any enemies

    • lol doesnt matter. what if they cant remove it? 100s of songs would be lost to this dumb fuck

    • Me: Trying to calm the situation and not trying to make someone depressed

  • youtbe has taken down His CHANNEL YAy

  • i'm so confused what did he steal from me?!

and i better not get sued for some shix like this xD

(This shows my little knowledge on the difference between copyright and trademarks)

    • if you upload one of the tracks he trademarked that belongs to you, you'll be the one getting a copyright strike.

  • Thank you for raiding his personal yt

All four of the videos on his channel have been taken down

    • I did it myself when I received a comment from you. I am trying to solve the problem I caused. so sorry

    • It was the yt algorythm that took it down, not a person. We just threw enough reports at it for it to be taken down automatically.

    • wow that was quick

      holy shit
