Edition Audiotool: Mikel Boyles

Total playing time: 0:57:44

@Mikel Boyles formally known as Nowai compiled this great album for you. Thanks a lot Mikel.

Check out his feature on facebook:

1. As if I had met my death, I fell as a dead body falls. by @An angel

"Jeff Hargrave, aka an angel, has an incredible way of making me feel emotions as I listen to his tracks. It's almost haunting. As such I have to be in a certain mood to cue up his tracks as extended listenings have nearly induced tears and I mean that sincerely. I hope he continues to create these incredible and emotional abstract hip hop tracks."

2. Blue Days feat Emma by @cihangir

"Cihangir was an interesting artist to me. I first heard "Back 2 Corporate Slavery" and thought he was decent and, unfortunately, didn't tune in again until nearly 2 years later. When I caught him again he had released "Blue Days" and I was hooked. It was by far my favorite track of his until he came out with "All Your Tricks" that once again featured Emma's amazing vocals."

3. Yielding by @André Michelle

"André Michelle makes incredible Dub and Techno tracks that never get old to listen to. On one fateful November(?) evening in 2014 I logged into Audiotool and saw he had a new track. I assumed it would be good (as most of his tracks are) and was blown away by everything about it. The synths, the pads, the bass, everything was spot on. Some of you may have noticed I've used a modified version of his bass stabs in a few of my more recent tracks. Needless to say it's my favorite of his tracks!"

4. Dubtexno by @noraus1

"Noraus is a wizard when it comes to utilizing the tools that Audiotool makes available to us and he is a big reason why I try to experiment as often as I can. I don't ever see myself mastering the craft as well as he has but I love hearing what he cooks up!"

5. Invaders by @Christian-Chrom

"Christian-Chrom is a more recent artist I stumbled upon. I wish I had heard his tracks earlier. He is another who likes to have fun and experiment with different synths and tools much like noraus. Another great inspiration to try mixing things up."

6. Subsonic Collision by @808Chunk

"Choosing my favorite 808chunk track is like choosing which of your children you love most. 808chunk has always been a great ambassador of Oldskool music and very tight sound design. I love hearing how intricate his tracks are and how well put together they are. His versions of Detroit Techno, Acid Techno, Oldskool Tech/House, and Electro music will always have a soft spot in my heart and is something that I never tire of hearing."

7. Kiçini Bikini by @Austek

"I don't know much about Austek other than that he is Turkish, makes incredible tracks, and loves to move between styles of music with almost every release. His tracks always sound polished and easy on the ears. I hope to improve my production values to match with his and one day I hope to be able to download one of his tracks ;)"

8. Guitar by @yas

"5 years ago I was absolutely floored by what yas had created. I remember my browser kept crashing whenever I just tried opening the song and playing it. This one really inspired me to try chopping samples more and is a tactic I currently use in nearly every track. yas, along with the last person in this list were very influential in my musical development."

9. Levitation by @oedipax

"The first of my two favorite Audiotool junglists. She has a way of using samples, manipulating them, and fitting them seamlessly into a track. This track in particular was such a great example of classic Jungle that it ended up on the "Oldschool Jungle" Wikipedia page. Class!"

10. Alokin by @Jonjon

"The second of my favorite Junglists and one of the most important people in my musical journey. Jonjon has been a driving force in the development of my music. He's had my back for years giving me tips and encouragement as I tried to make music that I loved and that I hoped others would, too. Without him my fragile ego and I may not have made some of the tracks I've churned out over the years. Thank you so much, Jon!"

Artist recommendation: @Anoetic

"This won't surprise anyone who knows my relationship with Dirra. He is an old friend from school who wanted to know how I made music. This is my favorite track of his since it was his first attempt using the site. "

11. Dirra by @Anoetic

Favorite track of his own

"I love this track because I would say it was one of my first proper and well produced Jungle tracks. It highlights my love of the Rasselbock to create different sounds and beats and my gratuitous use of the Machiniste in almost every track I've made since then."
