So I've written several songs, and want to put them to music, I know the tune and roughly what tempo it is. But am looking for any help I can get with putting it to music. I've tried before but can never seem to get them to fit together nicely. So any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Well, I would say, an acapella should be timestretched, which means changing the speed or duration without affecting its pitch. And also, trim the audio, so you don't have any empty spaces, that make it unfitting in your song. Other than that, I'm not really sure what you are going for. But hopefully this helps you get a rough idea on this concept.
At the moment, yeah, Which is how I wrote it initially because I don't know how to make music well enough to add the music and get it to fit correctly.
What genre is the music? Does it have vocals or is it instrumental? Answering those questions can help to start looking for a suitable rhythm or instruments for the main melodic ideas/hooks.
