I need help with sad trap I know a little bit about chords and making a melody but I need more tips on how to create them. If someone can give me a template to look at that would help also.
chords are literally 2 more notes played at the same time. 3 notes (or triads) are usually the norm. minor chords/using minor scales are usually a good start for sad stuff, but since music theory is such a big topic, asking how to make stuff sound sad can be a hard question to answer without doing the work for you.
A better question: what sad trap songs do you like? find out the chords the song uses and either build a melody with the chords, or make the chords fit your melody/ experiment.
half step intervals are usually the key to making a sad trap melody
