How do i fix clipping

  • May I ask the same question?

this was four years ago (feels like yesterday lol) but I'd really like to know wether there is a better way or this is still ideal. I have tried this with my dubstep tracks and they start to lose their punch a lot, a little too much gain and people are suing me for their subwoofers death.

How do I keep a good sound in my music?

    • Start with a well-balanced mix (levels, EQ, compression) that peaks around -6 dB, leaving room for mastering. Distortion can improve your crest factor for loudness. Pay attention to mid-frequencies for clarity and translatability. Mastering should be light, and the limiter should catch occasional peaks without working too hard.

  • Audio clipping occurs when your signal reaches over 0db. Depending on what is causing the clipping, the easiest option is to just turn down the level on whatever it is thats causing trouble. Other times you might need to compress or limit your sound to ensure it doesnt reach over 0db
