Switching patterns on the tone matrix

I am having problems/doing things wrong on the tone matrix.

I can create the different patterns, but I cannot get specific patterns to go on the sequencer/measure/timeline. It's only the current pattern shown on the tone matrix. Am I missing a device or a step?

    If you have placed one or more pattern regions inside the pattern track for your Tonematrix, the patterns should change in the device when you play the track. Make sure that you haven't muted the track or the regions themselves.
