I almost was the storm you craved,

The chaos wrapped in calm you braved.

A whispered truth you held like flame,

A ghost you kissed but never named.

I almost broke the rules for you,

Bent every star, turned black to blue.

But shadows learn to hide their light

When love won’t stay to hold the night.

I almost lived inside your eyes,

Beneath your dreams, between your lies.

But “almost” isn’t flesh and bone

It’s every place I walked alone.
