Edition Audiotool: Carlyon

Total playing time: 0:47:20

Welcome to @Lyon (done) ‘s varied Top 10 compilation. If you want to know more about this great artist read the interview on our Facebook:

1. Doom Station by @femme_robot

„One of the first and most influential tracks I listened to on Audiotool. femme_robot did a great job of creating dynamic, driving and dark rhythms that were simple but effective. A lot of my early pieces were inspired by this track.“

2. Tides by @Olaf

„When I first heard an Olaf track I realized just how diverse the music in this community could be. This track in particular really gripped me with it‘s dark atmosphere and style. Olaf’s work was also huge in helping me define my own style early on.“

3. Anyone There by @opaqity

„Truly an amazing piece of music. Opaq is a real pro in my book; all the sounds in this track are crisp and highly polished. The attention to detail is a bit ridiculous at points! The driving dark basses and undulating pads turn me into jelly man.“

4. Everything by @Aaron

„Another highly polished work by ΛΛRON and a great example of combining the workflow of AT with external inputs. The guitar in this piece immediately grabbed my attention as something different, and the chopped vocals at the end always turn me into a sloppy mess.

5. Lost by @Kepz

„Lost is a tour de force. This track pushed me to realize that even the simplest tools when used the right way can yield incredible results. The far off synths and melodies that Kepz created are mind-blowing in their execution and complexity, and all made in AT no less. „

6. Sol Solo by @noraus1

„A great track from the boss of synth patches. Noraus pulls off a similar hat trick to Kepz in crafting a piece that is compelling using the tools that AT provides. The layered synth stabs are super high quality and the bass and beat pull it all together. Also the arps get me in a certain kind of way.“

7. Minced Meat by @Snadbrugen

„I love this track for so many reasons; low freq. melodies, retro percs and ARPS. While I was still making house-ish stuff, Sndbrgn was a consistently professional source for me to turn to for inspiration. Talk about consistent to his craft as well, his style is well known to many and has been that way since I started making music here.“

8. Tightrope by @tornsage

„Torn is my hero here on AT, no doubt. This track is filled to the brim with emotion and stands out like many of Torn’s tracks as truly unique. Like Sndbrgn, Torn has always stayed true to form with his tracks and consistently stands out in a sometimes mono-saturated music scene here. Torn found me really early on and shared my (at that point) pretty shitty tracks around until I got my feet under me. Keep it real Tornsage!“

9. Samatha? By @dove

„When it comes to the contemporary stuff, dove is my go to. His tracks are clean, to-the-point, and relentlessly future. I really like this piece and many of dove’s because they show that AT is dynamic in representing a wide variety of new and emerging genres.“

10. Sinister by @Luxior

„ It’s been really interesting to see some of the longer running artists here evolve over the years and lucs is a perfect example of that. His content is constantly changing while still maintaining a nugget of his own style. This song is super creative and the perfect track for me to be all hyphy and emo too haha. I do wanna be hardcore (sometimes).“

Artist spotlight: @Tocka

11. Eloquence by @Tocka

"Tocka published this track a month ago and its already on of my favorites. It has that undeniably future sound that I love and a level of polish I haven’t seen in awhile. I’m really curious to see where their next track goes and how I can potentially learn from it! Keep it up!"

Personal track:

12. Lucid by @Lyon (done)

„I’m rarely completely happy with the tracks I make but lucid was a really fun experiment that went all the way to publication that I am happy with. The last 45 seconds of the track are my favorite haha. „

  • @Lyon (done) What you said about Tornsage is true to many people, including myself. He was always there encouraging me while I slowly improved (I'm still pretty mediocre, but I'm a hell of a lot better than I was) and gained a following. He has done this for so many new artists and I've never seen him type a single negative word.
