But his involvement reaches further than mere music making. His video tutorials have cult status and many a beginner has gained from them valuable insights into the use of Audiotool and production techniques in general. Thank you Michael for your support and the truly great contribution you have made over the years.

Interview

Michael Hleck Place: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Age: 28 Profession: Following my heart :P

Musical Style
I like to use lots saw waveforms and play the same 4 chords over and over again. This is mostly because I have very little understanding of music theory. But that's okay. What I can tell you, is that if this was like, some kind of music mag interview. I'd fake a european accent so I sound all inspired and underground, and say some rubbish stock line like: "With Compu'ers, it's like the possibilities are endless."
Musical Background
I've never really played any traditional instruments, and in fact I had no interest in music at all until I was 15. I mean, I guess you could call a computer an instrument! So, in that case I'm a real professional at pressing/clicking buttons that make sounds. So Pro, brah.
Started making music
Somewhere in the early 2000's, I fumbled my way through trial and error and learned how to make tracks in early versions of Fruity Loops. Which was funny, because there were so many really bad glitches. Like, really bad glitches no one explained to me. I mostly ignored normal social interactions like meeting girls and going to parties, to invest my time into pressing a key, hearing a stupid bass sample, laughing, and repeating. It's been about 10 or so years and now I have friends to come over, press a key, hear a stupid bass sample, laugh, and repeat.
On Audiotool
"Back in the Day" when the site was still under "The Company That Shall Not Be Named" (AT seems to hate Hobnox or something, it's basically the Voldemort of Audiotool), My friend Tyler told me about Audiotool. I used it to mess around while I was in class, instead of doing my work. Coincidentally, I also got top marks in that class as a network engineer. Also coincidentally, no one really seems to want to hire network engineers, and so I went on to work doing security. This is where I spent the majority of my time using Audiotool, as the cities highest paid musician.
