Chonoes doesn't take prisoners. If you prefer things soft and neatly pressed, you'd better turn around – or learn to appreciate that things get wild here. But this isn't just hard-hitting. It's playful, direct, and fiercely creative. Chonoes comes from a real Audiotool dynasty — a young veteran who's been part of the scene for more than nine years now. For those unfamiliar, an altruist is someone who selflessly puts the well-being and needs of others above their own. Whether the artist intentionally crafted this wordplay is unclear. With Civility we welcome another great singer-songwriter on board of our highly talented featured artist forge. His across-the-board sensitive, magnificently composed indie songs go straight to the ear and heart, which is due in no small part to his outstanding unobtrusive voice and composition skills. He doesn't belong to artists with a particularly high output rate, but when he delivers, it's always to the point and shows powerful emotional depth. Don't miss out on exploring his music.

After writing over 150 texts for our featured artists, I've reached the point where I sometimes wonder if the word 'unique' should even be used so frequently and whether it can truly apply to so many musicians. And then I look at the list and see Amp7070, and all doubts are dispelled. We have so many unique musicians, and we can be proud of that. Amp7070 describes himself as genre phobic, and his playful mix of melancholic beauty and whimsical humor is truly difficult to classify within a specific style. However, it's hard not to feel the enthusiasm and (yes!) uniqueness of the early Indie and New Wave scene in his voice and compositions, when music was meant to break down genre barriers instead of conforming to them. For those who enjoy being surprised and can appreciate raw talent, joy in distinct music, and whimsical everyday stories, Amp7070 is highly recommendable.

Retro is one of our inconspicuous heroes. His tracks bear witness to immense musicality and advanced know-how. In addition to all the technical finesse, his music also exudes liveliness and a funky freshness that is simply fun to listen to. His "Artblock" and "Dead Drafts" series suggest what his drafts hide and want to come to the surface, and makes each of us long for a creative block if those are the results. He is one of the greats, and we're glad it has finally worked out. Come by for a coffee sometime if you are ever downtown.

We are pleased to introduce mxcii as the 150th featured artist of the second generation. At the latest, since his victory at Audiotool Day 22, it should be clear what kind of talent we're dealing with here. With his crystal-clearly produced, complex drum and bass pieces, he's not only at the forefront of this own genre on Audiotool. In his seven years of membership, he certainly hasn't had the highest output of all, but one that is always of very high quality, and that's been the case from the very beginning. So we can be curious about what comes next. I'm sure it will be good.

WPX is an exemplary figure in the diverse and boundary-pushing world of Audiotool musicians. Masterfully his music merges seemingly opposing styles and elements to create a sound that is both unexpected and unconventional - experimental yet funky, fresh yet classic, old-school yet brand new and, despite its minimalistic approach, WPX's music is incredibly complex and rich in detail. Unsurprisingly, "ANALOG" is WPX's only descriptive artist tag. With such a broad range, I wouldn't want to restrict myself, either. With this feature as a clear invitation, there's no better time to explore WPX's unique and forward-thinking artistry. For any musician, encountering his work is sure to evoke a sense of awe and inspiration. Check out this Auditoool master of fusion.

Kepz's story is a pleasure to tell: as a young teenager, he stumbled upon Audiotool and played a significant role in shaping its early years alongside the first generation of users. Over time, he matured musically from producing playful Trance and Melodic House anthems to crafting a chillier, deeper Dub Techno and Deep House sound. Although still so young, he won the Moog Fest Contest and travelled from Sydney to the USA to play a DJ set at the renowned festival. As Kepz continued to grow as an artist, he began playing at parties and enjoyed numerous releases on various Dub Techno labels. In 2022, he made a deep impression on us when he applied for the developer position we advertised. And now, at the beginning of 2023, Kepz has undertaken his second-long journey in the service of Audiotool. He's come to our Audiotool Basement in Cologne to support us in taking the next important step. But before I reveal too much, read on to discover how the story unfolded from his perspective.

Siren's last track on Audiotool may have been a while ago, but that's no reason not to look closer at his work. His Bass-Music-inspired Hip Hop and Drum and Bass have always exhibited a high degree of professional coolness. It was not least this characteristic trait, but also the great chemistry between the three, that enabled him, in collaboration with Icebox and dcln, to bring home the victory for Audiotool in the Collaborative Music Contest 2021. His Insta videos also showcase that we're dealing with a cool cat with a wide range of remarkable skills and entertainment value.

JayFK has been killing it since dropping his first track just a year ago. With 86 more under his belt, it's clear that he's no amateur. Whether Deep House or Techno, Jay's tracks always bring an authentic vibe to get the crowd moving. And his downtempo stuff? Pure atmospheric bliss that proves he's got skills for days. Keep an eye on this one - big things are coming.

Voyd, alongside VLTRA and Sila, is undoubtedly a standout member of the Audiotool Lo-Fi community. For six years, he has captivated audiences with his scratchy and laid-back sound creations, always exhibiting a calm and understated demeanour, much like his presence within the community. It's time to give a well-deserved nod to the one who truly deserves recognition. As you may be aware, a devastating earthquake struck Turkey and Syria recently. Emre, a resident of Turkey, has asked for your support in using his status as an Audiotool Featured Artists artist to bring attention to this tragedy. So now we are asking you, on behalf of Emre, if possible, to donate to aid the victims of this disaster.

Just in time for Christmas, we're bringing Xavi back, who left Audiotool a few years ago to try his luck in the music business. We want to get to the bottom of this: how has he been doing in the meantime? What has worked and what hasn't? What could he take with him from Audiotool, and what does he maybe even miss? Andy is, without exaggeration, one of the great vocalists of Audiotool. He is not afraid to use his Pop Music-oriented timbre for more lo-fi, experimental sound structures. The tension that this mixture of easy listening and complexity creates sets his work apart from the uniformity of the contemporary Pop landscape and makes him unique on Audiotool. We sincerely hope he will get over his "creative break" soon because he still owes us a vocal recording with the prize won in the Summer Song Contest - an award he fully deserved. Come on, Andy!

Drimeur is one of the few remaining representatives of the old-school Tech-House genre. He sticks unerringly and authentically to the sound design and the structure of his idols and still gives his tracks that certain pinch of profound musicality and Frenchness. Let's call it the Drimeur factor. But he also presents other classic dance-floor filling styles like Acid, Techno and Retro Electro on his never-boring tracklist. If you haven't ever looked at his portfolio, which has been growing for 12 years, we strongly advise you to do it.

We proudly present to you the winner of the last Featured Artist poll. We are especially pleased that it chose such a creative personality who, until not so long ago, could be considered an absolute insider tip. His tracks result from a sophisticated musicality combined with artistic fearlessness and an unerring sense of the extraordinary. Thus sphere's music remains only superficially inaccessible: once it has caught you, it unfolds a claustrophobic beauty that won't let go of the advanced listener. Melancholy is what you probably expect when you read his artist's name. Melancholy is also superficially what you get but packaged with danceability, funkiness and even euphoria. Euphoria for the listener or dancer because Melancolist's synth lines, inspired by the pioneers of electro music, are heartbreakingly beautiful. Also, for the musicians among us, he conjures a warm and analogue sound from the Pulverisateur, which is unparalleled. That sound suggests a candelabra-lit room with a wall-high modular system rather than headphones on a laptop on a terrace above Paris' rooftops. Stop by again sometime. Your music is a blessing.

viista is undoubtedly one of Audiotool's wild ones. His mixture of noisy Trap and anarchic Lo-Fi Breakz often scratches the border of the bearable but also gives you time to catch your breath in more relaxed Downtempo beats. His genre creation Vistacore keeps what the name promises. For all those who appreciate the experimental approach to electronic music, viista is a must. It is particularly well suited for those who want to push themselves in this direction, as it wraps experimentation in the garb of temporary popular music. Hats off, Mista Vista!'

If you were to ask me for the adjective that I think best describes leadenshrew's music, it would be crunchy. The tracks, always produced to the point, whether Bass-Music, Drum & Bass or Experimental, to name but a few, have all captivating instrumentation and mixing through a clear crispness that is second to (almost) none. It's hard to believe that he had little patience to invest his time in music before Audiotool because this sounds like the work of an experienced producer and that from the beginning of his career on Audiotool. We need your UK approach to Bass-Music alive. So pull yourself together and deliver!

nico's musical background is fully apparent. There isn't a single track where you don't feel someone that breathes music is at work. But it's not only on Audiotool that nico is active: the first single by him and his Jazz band, in which he plays the drums, celebrates its world premiere today in preparation for the album that will soon follow. We are glad that we've been able to contribute to the musical development of this talent over the last ten years and hope that he will remain with us for a long time.

Looking back ten years, when Gravidon entered the Audiotool stage, it was clear from the start that we were not dealing with a beginner. Accurate in production and composition, he served professional-sounding EDM tracks with a penchant for the orchestral and a preference for pleasing melodies. A mixture which has chart-breaking potential. In contrast to his music, which does not skimp on bombast, Gravidon practises modesty and thus maintains the reputation of an insider tip over the years. Admittedly an insider tip whose influence on the development of the Audiotool Main Stage genres we can't ignore. Keep it up, Gravi!

Client is undoubtedly one of the heavy hitters in the Audiotool Bass Music scene. In the beginning, it was sound design experiments, mainly for Heisenberg Bass Sounds and dubstep tracks. But over the years, he has developed into a real, versatile musician who is not afraid of excursions into other, deeper sound worlds and delivers a quality that leaves nothing to be desired. Not without reason was Client one of the favourites in the Featured Artist user votings. We hope to hear a lot more from you, man. Keep it up! [Editor's note: I love long tracks]

If you went back in okin's playlist to his (visible) beginnings on Audiotool in 2018, you wouldn't discover anything surprising: even back then, it seemed clear where he was heading. His opening track lost vale is an Ambient piece that tells a story full of melancholy and hope. You can see the images of the fictional film for which he created these enchanting harmonies. Until today, this uplifting, dreamy mood runs like a thread through his work. His - still other-worldly - melodies, in incomparable mature sound creations and beat constructions, skillfully span the arc between daydream and danceability and are thus much more than pure relaxation music.

Aeiter is somehow the singer-songwriter of Audiotool. His vocals and instrumentation transport the listener into misty landscapes full of fantasy and enchanting melancholy without falling into esoteric kitsch. His collaborations with Naut are legendary and probably make both of them the users with the most trophies from contests on our site. But he also moves unerringly in other genres, as his more than 300 songs -mainly lo-fi and experimental- prove. If you don't know his music yet, it's time to dive in.

To pigeonhole sim in one style would be a mistake. He is too versatile for that. The lowest common denominator is the incredible quality that runs like a thread through all his productions. His self-recorded instrument samples -mainly bass- give his music an organic feel that only a few users on Audiotool can match. Recently, he has attracted attention with a stunning Synthwave banger he produced in collaboration with Icebox. The bronze medal for this one in the Audiotool Day contest was much more than deserved. While his first steps on Audiotool five years ago were somewhat clumsy, they already hinted at his talent for Hip Hop recordings. And today, we can speak without exaggeration of vocal and music tracks indistinguishable from professional recordings in sound, composition and presentation. With his track Headspace, he played himself into our focus for the first time, prompting us to hire him for the Beginner's Ride to Audiotool as a vocalist, to which he confidently delivered his high-quality contribution. All of these characteristics, plus his talent for presenting himself online, leave us in no doubt that he has a good chance of making it into the music industry. And we are happy to be a part of this path.

In more or less a decade on Audiotool, TS - aka Two Sworded - has not only grown up as a human being but has also solidified his musical style and now provides a foundation for the ever-growing Bass Music community on our website. TS is also convincing on his alt accounts, showing both variety and accuracy in his production quality. Especially on in. he thrills us with interesting sound constructs, cool beats and a deeper and more relaxed atmosphere, whereas the sound on Downlocked hits you directly in the face. Wightfall's music is not light fare, yet it's a pleasure to listen to his mix of indie/alternative and electro. His album Nine Steps is an Audiotool milestone and convinced even those listeners not otherwise drawn to the darker genres. The emotional impact of his music made a name for itself at the latest with his contribution to the Team AT Work Contest, where he took third place together with Apollo and Nyafae. As we've learned, he currently studies at Oxford University, which has produced bands such as On A Friday, which is undoubtedly among his main inspirations. Anyway, we'd love to hear more Wightfall music soon.

▽Momo▽桃. is undoubtedly one of Audiotool's top-notch users. Just over 100 followers separate her from the artist's top ten, which would make her the first artist in it who has been active on Audiotool for less than five years. Her self-confident manner [editor's note: "snotty" was probably not a good choice of words] certainly doesn't go down well with everyone, but we can agree that this kind of polarization makes her a true star. Especially since she manages to transport this fearlessness into crisp pieces of music that are always truly entertaining and figuratively full of funkiness, no matter to what genre they belong. Please carry on delivering many more kick-ass beats in the future!

The idea for the People's Choice Featured Artist originated in our wanting to leave it up to you to choose someone we might not have on screen ourselves. Not that this was the case when you chose rai, but we're still really glad that the majority of you share our estimation. rai. has made a name for himself in recent years and that not only with his high-quality contest submissions - to name just one: the Trap Kid Challenge, which he also won. To limit his style to one genre would be wrong. What distinguishes his music, however, is the high degree of creativity and technical accuracy. Anyway, we are pleased to present to you an artist who is as talented as likable, and we will now let him take the stage before we get completely carried away.

The last and one of the youngest artists in the first round is a guarantor for nasty basses and heavy drums. At a young age, Vault Boy is already one of the top players in our well-established Bass Music and Dubstep gang. So buy some ear protection, pump up the volume and bang your heads to Vault Boy's audible punch in the gut.

Frogs in suits, audio memes, funny pictures and titles - often exceeding the preview in length; That's Joe. But anyone who sees in Joe only the anarchic joker - which he undoubtedly is - does him an injustice. His work of art is much more: He surprises in between with a well-considered dose of seriousness. One of his covers shows a sad clown. Whether intentional or not, this suggests how we can interpret his work. His lyrics play skilfully with the advantages and disadvantages of the zeitgeist and the life of young people in this period of human existence. So he doesn't limit himself to sharing funny pictures but uses meme culture to express his message.

Bubblz's way of merging cool trap beats with heart-warming synth melodies and atmospheres is rare even outside Audiotool. Her tracks are unmistakably hers, but listening through the tracklist never gets boring. Time and again, there is a surprising note or a poignant nuance you hadn't heard before. But what unifies them all are their high-quality value and emotional density that can never leave you cold. This music has the gift of breaking down boundaries. Thanks for the enlightenment.

Vulkron can without exaggeration be described as a constant at the top of the Audiotool singles charts. Rumor has it that there were times when this was not the case. It is hard to remember them. The danceability and perfectionist production would make any festival crowd go wild, though the entertainment value of his art cannot be limited purely to the music. The anarchic, late-pubescent humor of the Fartstep inventor is always good for a laugh.

Sila already made a name for himself a few years ago with wacky HQ Lofi House tracks, which did not rely exclusively on the use of modified samples, as is quite common in the genre. He then finally became a star on Audiotool with his experimental tracks, which one would almost like to present as sound sculptures at art exhibitions. Whatever he does there is technically difficult to comprehend, even for experienced musicians, it takes you sonically into worlds that don't always seem to be that comfortable. But whatever he delivers, it is always massive.

If you're looking for clean funky House or chilled EDM tunes on Audiotool, you can't overlook Tim Derry. Listening to his tracks transports you directly to a pool party with sunshine, cocktails and beautiful people, of which for a few moments listening to his music you yourself are one. We have it on good authority that he is currently on a trans-Asian cycling tour and hope that he has enough connectivity in the wasteland of Funkmenistan to witness his big moment. High up in the north there lives a man who always manages to enchant Auditool users all over the world with his Ambient sounds and acoustic recordings. His gift for filling his riffs with so much feeling that the listener can escape the stress and bad news of this world for a short time is in a class of its own. His collaborations with the vocal talent Aeiter are legendary and have already brought one or the other trophy to both their shelves. Our newly created genre "Acoustic" seems to be made for you and is eagerly waiting to be filled with life. So come by and see what you can do

We are particularly pleased that this feature has at last worked out after such a long time. Syntax is certainly one of the longest-serving Audiotool veterans in our new season and a little something in this feature is sure to come as a surprise to one or two of you. Be that as it may, Syntax has been enriching the Audiotool output for a very long time with his versatile but always unerring and mostly danceable genre mix. Jordan Kibbey plays the claviatur of airy bass music like one of the greats. His compositions always seem mature and original and often hold surprises and changes of direction for the discerning listener. For that alone he deserves our respect and admiration. Hats off to Kibbey

Goon has also been an active part of our valued community for many years. It's hard to associate him with one style, he's too versatile for that. In his 9 years on Audiotool, Naswalt has developed from a quirky underdog to one of the most important and influential musicians in the community.
