Intracktion
Kai Franke
Intracktion, the enigmatic genius. There's hardly another Audiotooler that achieves such a perfect synthesis of melancholy and euphoria in one piece of music. Not least because of his apparently fragile voice, combined with his perfect command of the musical material, a comparison with Radiohead suggests itself.

- Musical Style
- He always had problems to define music.
- Musical Background
- There was a piano in the family home. His mother remembered how as a small boy he would clamber onto the piano stool, listening to every note with his full concentration. After some months he was playing little tunes with one hand, some months later extemporizing with with two. At the age of eight he started taking piano lessons, but found it boring to learn to play notes. He preferred playing things that came out of himself, not from a paper full of notes. When he was 14 his father bought him a Korg T1. He loved this big keyboard. It had a lot of great synths and drums and a sequencer, so for the first time he could record his compositions on discs. He becam interested in forms of synthesis, creating his own sounds with a Yamaha SY99. With the development of personal computers, recording tools and plug-in technology he did more and more with the computer down to the present time.
