shift + ctrl cuts the corner?

so, i use like normal, to duplicate samples, i press ctrl>click and drag sample, but i accidentally pressed shift and ctrl at the same time while putting this feature into practice. and i noticed the corner was cut off. does it change the sample in anyway? how could one use this to their benefit while making music, if it is a benefit?

  • a cut corner means that a sample or note pattern is a linked clone of sorts and each instance of it can be changed globally instead of per pattern; this is useful when tweaking a lot of already placed repeated samples or repeated note patterns so as to not have to manually replace every instance when you make a tweak to the sample or notes

    • Yeah, that should be the case :)

    • so your saying that, if i make a change to the original sample, the duplicated or cloned sample, will have the same change?
