  • so mysterious, relaxing and unsetteling at the same time

  • Oh yes. Wasn't feeling it at first, but got me half way. Beautiful.

  • I really like very melodic and tonal ambient music, that is rather stabilized, with the pad being either constant or only slightly changing in tonality. A piece that would rather feel relaxing. However the monotonality creates this completely hair-raising, absolutely unsettling feeling. And the context of the song is able to make the piece even more terrifying. I watched a horror movie, where there was such a pad added into a scene where everybody was fighting for their lives and slowly dying in

    • Let me know if you ever remember the name.

    • Gruesome ways (I don't remember the name). It haunts me 'till this day. And this track is a great example of that.

  • might i suggest adding preverb to the melody? or like, having a reverse hit happen so that its less sudden and more dramatic

    • Good idea. I’ll try it.

  • fyi, i play this board game with friends called Escape the Dark Castle, and it has a spotify playlist to listen to while youre playing, and its essentially just 45 minutes of this stuff, defo worth checking out :D

  • goddamn, this atmosphere <3

    • Thx. I was once told that putting together motifs and progressions that don’t really “work” makes a piece unsettling. The dissonance creates an almost primal effects that’s uncomfortable. Thought I’d try it out some more.
