to celebrate 200 followers, im having a remix contest on The Escapist by Coldplay. im pretty sure this is legal because nobodys going to redistribute it under a label...everything is Creative Commons. if it isnt let me know and ill do something else.

this track is heard at the beginning and the end of Viva la Vida and Death or All of His Friends and is mainly an instrumental. i left out the vocals and the end and just left the ambient soundscape. you guys have to be REALLY creative with this! im hoping to hear a lot of different genres.

RULES:

---------------------------------------------------------

1. DONT JUST CHANGE THE KEY OR BPM OR ANYTHING STUPID.

2. DONT JUST ADD A KICK TO IT AND CHANGE NOTHING ELSE.

3. DONT JUST DRAG IN A TON OF SAMPLES EITHER.

things ill be looking for:

-- genre: if you remixed it well enough in a different genre

-- production: i know a lot of people arent that great with eqing, but if its just an absolute mess then ill mark it down.

-- creativity: go OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. dont just add yoybass and call it a remix...maybe put the original content through a hipass and stutter it with a Rasselbock and have that in the background while you have other things in the foreground relating to the original content...stuff like that...

overall, ill be looking for remixes that sound unique to the creators style of music but still shows some of the original content.

if this sounds too complicated for anybody, id still like you to join. i want as many people as possible to take part in this because i want to see how creative people can get.

due date: a few days before the end of my spring break...i think its sometime in March-April, ill post it soon.

thats it i guess. i hope to see some awesome remixes!!! :)

  • i'll try to remix!

  • Wow... You are a genius man... How can you obtain this variety of sounds with only sinus waves ? You are a pro at effects use, This inspires me ! :)

  • THE VERY BEGINNING SONG IN THIS MEDLEY IS BY JON HOPKINS the guy I've been telling you to listen to. He used to help produce for Coldplay and play the keyboard, and as a thank you they let him debut his first single in his album in their song Life in Technicolor. jbtw k bye <3
