there have been some recent songs with some very nice sounding synth pianos, but they all have post processing. this is just a synth preset. (w/a reverb) i have spent dozens of hours perfecting this through seven versions to finally reach what i am convinced is the best piano preset on audiotool. feel free to add post processing to create a vibe that fits your song, but none is needed :D enjoy at community!
PS - i added the top ten piano presets on AT for comparison. mine is the first.
you nailed the tone of a piano, but the resonance is off and it doesn't sound good across the upper octaves. this one may not perfectly match the tone of a grand piano, but it still sounds like a piano across the octaves. i would love to have a preset that has both, but so far, i haven't found one. if you could make one, that would be fantastic :)
you might be surprised that i actually did, i think around 2017-18 ish? i made one purely out of the heisenburg. It wasn't perfect of course, nothing of that nature is.
i am in no way discrediting this attempt. it is good, just not the "best" on audiotool.
I would add some depth to the sound, in the high frequencies it is a bit reminiscent of the sound of the harpsichord. I didn't have time to take a closer look at the parameters in the studio. To be more precise I would have to use it in a project. That said, it remains good work. and above all I applaud you for working on the synths instead of just using samples, as I unfortunately see all too often.
Good initiative to take up the challenge :) To add depth, harmonics are essential to the piano sound, so maybe you can use at least 1 oscillator for that, or some detuning. Also, try to use LFOs/envelopes to create a slight and evolving vibration. The vibrato of the Quasar can be useful too. And I'd suggest adding a slight noise and a quick pitch bend at the attack, to remind of the hammer hitting the string when the key is pressed
Damn, this is quite groovy! I just heard a bass playing the same melody as the piano! (Not literally, the string instrument) This is quite good! Glad you perfected your preset!
