Using the panorama plugins, I could create a mid channel by adding a signal that swapped the left and right channels with the original sound, and I could create a side channel by adding doing the same, except the swapped signals had a negative polarity.

This allows the ability to process the two signals separately and give greater control over the stereo field of whatever sound you are working with.

For the examples, I used a stereo detune on the chords and then soloed the mid and side channels, then I did the same except with a stereo enhancer (and had a little fun at the end, too :])
