NULL Area: friend turned foe

The ice shattered, you fell. but instead of feeling the icy stab of the sea below, you land on your feet. Opening your eyes you look around and see nothing but a sleek shiny black ground and a black sky. A rune, about 12 metres across, appears on the ground glowing a faint sea blue. You hear a sharp piercing sound, almost causing you to fall to the ground. You look up and, seemingly from nowhere, you find yourself in a cave constructed of some sort of dark quartz with similar symbols on the walls. "More of those symbols." you think to yourself as you hear a familiar, almost comforting voice says your name. "How is this possible?" the thought echoes in your head, as you look in the direction of the voice. You gaze apon a door, about 13 metres tall, made of similar, lighter coloured, crystal. You notice how it has 6 symbols, arranged in a circle, on it. You start towards the door, as you approach it the symbols glow the same sea blue as the one on the floor. As you're about to reach for the handle the door swings open, revealing your friend. You run towards him, failing to notice the doors slamming behind you. You stop dead in your tracks, finding yourself unable to move at all. Getting angry and confused, you scream "You should be DEAD! We saw what it did to you. No one could possibly survive that, so what's going on!?" he makes a slicing motion through the air, you feel a blast knocking you back and slamming you into the wall. You draw your sword unsure of what's to come.

I may reboot my old permafrost game. I dunno.
