hmm also just remembered it’s called a freeze after a fairly famous guitar pedal by electro-harmonix called the freeze that does essentially the same thing

decay at 100% is an infinite sustain, a “freeze” of the current sound. the reverb tail just keeps going and going and going and going.... very fun
