Before I start explaining I whant to tell you about the used mic. It's not actually mine. It's my bassist cousin's. He and his family came to our place for Mid Summer day and he brought the mic so we could audition my friend Flodur. He is the guy who I teamed up with on our first track. Sadly he couldn't make it so my cousin decided to leave the mic into my hands so I could make use of it, so i decided to test mic placement.

On the 1. test is was kinda messing around with the mic being near my amp (a Vox Valvetronix AD30VT-XL). I shifted it around a little and tweeked the Master Volume.

On the 2. test i had two tracks. It starts of with the mic being near my face (I was sitting on my chair) and capturing the roomy sound. Then, when that track loops back to E, comes in the second track. As the riff goes on to A again I lowered the mic to have it facing diagonaly up at the amp's speaker. I acually like that combo with the room mic and the up facing mic. Then for the last repeat in E I shifted the mic up again.

I'll be doing more testing in the near future.
