Potasmic, Experiment: Logistic Map

00:0003:08

A little trip to the internet to look for some maths reference and I ended up looking at logistic maps again.

This time, I realize one thing: The Waveshaper in Next works kinda like a logistic map.

That's interesting, and since the behavior is pretty chaotic, I wonder how it'd sound...

Anyways, this is definitely me messing around. The function in this draft is arbitrary, that is because I found the quadratic logistic function to be boring, so I started adding more nodes.

You cannot change the function by automation, so I have to add a gain the feedback loop in order to make some bias. i.e., when I turn the gain down, it'll be biased towards the left half of the map, and same if I turn the gain up.

The initial condition (starting value) of the iteration in this case is an impulse signal.

Learn more (and explain to me later because I don't have time right now):

sounds like when my older computer tries editing a draft; interesting read though, thanks for this

    Woohoo!

And as in the whole chaotic system the result depends on the initial condition xD

probably inaccurate anyways,, there's delays and stuff in the splitter and merger and who knows what
