for the suggestion: I automated the volume on the centroid to get cleaner chops. Tell me what you think! :D (Russelbock is still needed for the slow-down and stutters)
the synthesis on the intro lead has some unpleasant harmonics in it. i would try experimenting with different waveforms to fix it. the chords are kinda tonal so i would add some fm, ott, and minimal eq to help with that. if u would like me to show you or need anything else just hmu. happy to help when i can :D
I would personally change the snare for something that has more white-noise and sounds more like a clap. But if it's a deliberate aesthetic choice, keep it.
you can have good samples but just want the resonance from one to layer with the harmonics of another for example. it's a fair point that you don't need them, but don't be shy to do so! it takes practice and good ears to layer well, but once you have some good layers that work well together and are glued properly, it can sound really nice :)
I understand the layering, but with good samples you won't need it. But I mean, yeah you could do that with the kick snare, just EQ them so they don't build up too much or fight in the low end. Clap, kick and snare are pretty dangerous combo to play at the sme time. You can make them fit for sure, but you might have to eq heavily and delay their transients a bit, but that depends on the snare. If it is just that plonk snare you have there you may be able to layer it with a clap without too much-
If you want to improve the chops, use volume automation on the centroid for example. You can get a much more precise and funky rhythms when you do so and you can control the envelope of it much easier too.
