This is a song that I wrote the lyrics to a good while ago. At the time, they were heartfelt--I felt like I was a grown up, but now it serves as a sort of ironic contrast to the obvious meaning in the song that we're still young. I wanted the vocals to feel very loose and left a lot of poor recordings in for stylistic effect.

Lyrics:

Let your handles go

Feel the air between your fingers

Let's find a minister

Get married tomorrow

I don't see any reason why

You wouldn't want to live real

Realize

That we are grown ups

Grown ups

Open up your eyes

See the world the way I see it

Let go of the lies

You're not a child any longer

I don't see any reason why

You wouldn't want to live real

Realize

That we are grown ups

Grown ups

Let's tell 'em who we are!

Real

Live

Ready

Made

Full

Blown

All

Known

Grown ups!

  • Needs more mixing.

  • NEEDS TO BE MORE POPULAR

  • Haha!

  • I'm hesitant to change them because it just feels like the flavor of the song. I might put up a more "listenable" version for non-hipsters :)

  • Dude.. This is wonderful. I'd love to hear it without "poor recordings".

  • End, the pitch was intentional...did you read the description?

  • pitch off so get vocoder it would help the voice

  • Awesome! You wrote out a whole composition, lyrics, etc. and I love the organ sounds in this. Really wonderful Vinyl! I love your loose, carefree style. Indie rockin it out! ;)
