"Sacrifice" plays during the final moments of the descent, when one player chooses to give themselves up to stop the infection once and for all. As the cutscene begins, the infected creature stands between them and the reactor controls, and hesitation fills the air. The music begins as the player steps forward, accepting what has to be done.
The first drop marks the moment the infection takes hold. The scene then shows the player, now transformed but still conscious, fighting to stay in control long enough for the others to escape. As the remaining players flee the collapsing facility, the tension builds one last time before everything cuts to silence. The moment the lever is pulled and the sacrifice is made.
Wind echoes through the cavern, a final piano fades in, and the descent comes to an end.
(((Feel free to remix, but do not use it outside of AT. Thank you!)))
I know that the description basically give the scene where the player sacrifices themselves, but when the music cuts off at
2:00
and continues with the wind and everything I just imagine the player (whether or not the setting continues where the player falls through the floor or collapses due to the infection or watches their teammates leave safely escape) taking one last breath that they'll remember and just being satisfied that they did the right thing/they were the hero in that story. (phew.)
honestly, I like the ideas, the main theme or topic of the game, and the music adds feeling to it, so personally I don't see how it could NOT be popular. Keep up the good work tho 😁
