gotta be super gentle if you do. A tip i picked up was using the old 2-band eq to subtly boost the lows and highs and slightly attenuate the mids, and then whacking the dry/wet level down to like 30-40% (dial it in each project obvs) to add some oomph. Its very subtle but A/B testing shows you the difference it makes.
