Short prelude for Saw bass synth/brass instruments, flute and percussion

Who knows how much time I have left.

A: When is the time to let go of... change everything you've ever known?

B: ...

A: Now?

B: Do you want to?

A: I'm scared that I may have to.

  • number 1 in soundtrack O_O

    thank you a lot

  • you have the right idea with the chorus being absolutely necessary to get that metallic brass texture but I think the way you've gone about it with the reverb and tube choke a lot of life out of the width it's trying to provide; it's paying too much of a price for grittiness. I don't know if realistic is what you were trying to go for but if it was I could invite you to a draft to study and take a look at what I've come up with on this front

    • Honestly, you have a different approach in your draft. I like that you split the brass into different synths for more control. I may do some adjustments to the sound, but the very gritty texture is a very essential part for me. Might EQ it a bit differently, or do slight adjustments, but I'd certainly try to stick to how this sounds, even if it is a bit synthetic sounding.

    • not a big deal just take a look at it when you can and see what you can learn

    • I'd gladly hop on a draft. Just currently busy.

  • I really enjoy this composition

  • woahhh

  • Old draft btw. Just finally found a way to make the bassline evolve.

  • stop doubting your music potential, asking for help is fine, considering everything that comes out as trash or bad instantly is bad.

the song is really good, the bass has a bit too much high end that is kind of annoying and it needs a bit more stereo minipulation, maybe make the bass wide and the other elements be reverby and but mono.

    • I wanted to achieve a gritty, relatively realistic brass/foghorn sound with the bass. I like it this way. Sorry if I made it sound like I think this is trash. There's just some reserves that I may not be hearing, as you mentioned.
