Another little easy groove.

Here I am still practicing with the synthesizers. I think this time I have nothing out of key, but if I am wrong please tell me! I have tried to have all the synths in the same interval (I'm trying to start getting the basic concepts of music theory, since I really have 0 idea), and make them progress slower so that nothing is out of place.

I guess the next step is to star trying to do some more chords over the mix so it doesn't feels this empty, but well, please tell me what you think about it! <3

  • yeah really nice man, agree with HTR sound design wise! :) I think the next step for you when it comes to synths is learning what all the different fx plugins do, i see youre using reverb/filters/compression which is a good start, but for example some subtle chorus and stereo-detune would work wonders on that main pad. Also i cant iterate enough about learning how to EQ properly, both attenuating and cutting freqs; are you familiar with the standard frequency chart?

    • Yes man that would be amazing! I've reciently moved to Next so that is not a problem! It's pretty late now, but any other day you have some spare time i would be more than happy to get a little lesson :)

    • No worries dude, if you can use Next id be more than happy to set up a draft and run you through what everything is bit by bit :)

    • ok, i think I start getting what it is now.. gonna try and see it in the app now so i can actually understand it ;) cheers man, thanks a lot <3

  • "old school" vocals seemed a bit cheesy in my opinion i wouldn't have put vocal shouts on a track of this genre! other than that its really good, and again your style is really cool and unique!

    • i always enjoy vocals to spice tracks up, but yeah this one in particular is kind of cheesy. I may try to make a more 'techno' vocal free sample.. thanks for the feedback

  • Not bad! Your sound design is pretty impressive for someone who's new to production. The track is fairly quiet overall, but that's not too hard to fix. I don't listen to Acid House that much at all haha, so I'm not too helpful

    • Thanks man! I need to start adding more chords maybe to make It a little more dinámica, but thanks for the feedback :)

  • So how is it going with tuning your kicks ?

    • Ok.

    • I think I'm gonna leave thins song as It is and play with the kicks for a while on a draft so I can get how yo do It properly, I'll tell you when I get something done ;)

  • Synths fit, but there is something odd about the melodies. Not sure what though

    • mmm do you mean at any specific part of the track or at the whole thing?

  • The pad synth in the beginning sounds really nice, the percs sounds very nice throughout the track and the 303 sounds good.

The part starting at 01:40 could be a lot harder though.

    • Yes, maybe you can use a TubeDistortion to give the kicks a 'punch' ?

    • never tried tuning my kicks before, so ig its about time.. thanks for the feedback <3

    • Hmm. Maybe you could use a subbass or use a PEQ on the kicks.

  • btw that blurry shadow in the cover is no other than myself lol

  • Republished

    minor edits

  • I'm wondering did I show you that website with the Genres.

Acid techno/Acid House are pretty nice , just not my thing.

    • I think you did, It was super useful to get some things clear.. It get me to Discovery neotrance also which is a gente that un enjoying quite a lot

    • You are talking about that one that looked so early 2000s right?

  • The atmosphere is nice on the pad.

the Acid bass-line could use a bit more resonance.

and soon you'll end up getting into more complex beat patterns , and tuning your kicks , and to throw your own flavor on those modernized drum loops.

    • Thanks for the feedback! Definetly need to spice those drums on future tracks

  • Overall great track.
