fixed some stuff i missed on first publish

  • lol no problem :)

  • haha im still pretty confused, but im about to look at your sidechaining tutorial thing to get a better grasp of it. thanks so much for trying to explain it to me though! :)

  • so as i was saying, when the little bop sounds are played, i hear a slight decrease in sound in those parts...you can fix that just simply by turning it down or sidechaining the pads/bass with its signal. hope that helps :)

  • lol its alright. the limiter is the thing you plug the final output into...in technical terms it stops the audio from going over 0db..in AT its much more efficient than using a compressor to do that, not sure about that in other DAWs...but yeah, if you have too much sound, the limiter will not let it go over 0db unless its REALLY loud...

  • thank you! and yeah, i considered that, but not everyone enjoys the type of ambient that's just one long chord with no variation (although i do, lol), so i thought that might be an interesting thing to try out. im really bad at doing subtle changes in the pad like that. and hahaha, sorry if this is really dumb, but what is a limiter? im really bad with the technical side of mixing (sidechaining, compression, ducking, etc) and i really just dont know what that is. and very true! thanks again

  • beautiful, that pad is so nice! in the beginning, i would recommend not panning the pad because it is clipping and seems a little bit out of place. also check if the little bop things are too loud or not, you have the limiter on and i can hear sound being reduced. other than that i love it, and dont worry about the time, lots of ambient tracks exceed the 20 minute mark lol. beautiful work! :)
