  • For high-pass, something I like to do is I like to increase the frequency of the Highpass until it starts to noticeably affect the sound of the instrument, then dial it back a bit.

For equalization, you wanna aim to give distinct spaces for each of your instruments so the sound doesn't overlap too much and muddys it up too much, and Mud I would define as a rumbling sound in the mix. I didn't hear any in this one, but the EQ could be improved so everything blends a lot less.

  • I wanna start with saying I like the beat. Now some immediate things I noticed was the base seems way to strong. At least to me, I would place some Highpass on it at 40Hz to cut out the sub-bass sounds, and lower the volume of the bass by about 1-2 dBs. Second, the cymbal I find conflicts with the lower range instruments a bit too much. Should high-pass that at I would roughly say 400-500Hz. -- For all other instruments, give them some high-pass so they conflict with the bass less.
