This is my first attempt at making a soundtrack to the Apollo 11 launch countdown. I liked using horns and orchestral strings to capture the triumphant moment but also enjoyed incorporating electronic instruments for a modern take.

My weaknesses with this were pacing and organizing my melodies. I liked the melodies I was using but I wasn't finding a satisfying way to organize them. Of course, that's something that will come with more practice and study. Although, I have noticed that I tend to stick with melodies I like instead of getting rid of them if they don't serve the proper purpose in the piece. That might be the real issue here: getting attached to melodies and not being able to let go for the interest of the composition.

Another weakness was not knowing how to process the vocal samples. I did my best to make them sound understandable but there's still a lot of noise. To end on a good note (NPI), I like the horn melodies and I like how I incorporated dynamics to give the melody some character.

For next time, I will plan out the composition in terms of emotions I want to elicit from the listener and then create melodies that fit those emotions. As always, tips and help are welcomed!
